Capabilities

Engineering

Engineering to decide, build and grow.

We turn operational needs and investment objectives into technical solutions. We integrate studies, design, calculations and documentation with project direction and coordination of specialist disciplines.

Our involvement considers the required capacity, site conditions, execution and expected performance. We work on both new projects and the assessment, extension and adaptation of existing infrastructure.

From the initial requirement to a documented solution.

Preliminary studies and technical feasibility

We survey needs, existing information and constraints. We coordinate site studies and assess alternatives for layout, capacity and configuration. We identify missing information and constraints that must be resolved before progressing to more detailed decisions.

Conceptual, basic and detailed engineering

We develop the solution progressively: from the overall arrangement and design criteria through the drawings, calculations and specifications needed for procurement and construction. Each stage establishes what has been defined, which assumptions are being used and which decisions remain open.

Civil and structural engineering

We design foundations, concrete structures, retaining elements, pavements and support structures. We consider the actions and service conditions specific to each use. In silos, for example, the behaviour of the stored material and the loads associated with filling and discharge require a specific approach, different from that of a conventional building.

Hydraulic engineering and coordination of installations

We develop conveyance, storage, drainage and containment solutions. We coordinate civil works with equipment and installations, incorporating process requirements, connections, access and maintenance. In treatment plants and biodigesters, we define the boundaries of responsibility between structure, process and equipment.

Project direction and management

We organise scope, schedule, budget, responsibilities and interfaces. We coordinate disciplines, reviews and decisions, and monitor risks and changes. Technical direction and project management are specified according to the needs and responsibilities of each assignment; they are not considered interchangeable functions. Planning, coordination between participants and change control are central components of infrastructure project management.

Assessment of existing infrastructure

We review background information, conditions of use and state of preservation. We define inspections, surveys and checks to assess modifications, new loads, extensions or strengthening. Conclusions identify the information used, its limitations and any additional interventions or studies required.

Technical criteria that vary with the infrastructure

ApplicationAspects we address
Concrete silos and bulk storage cellsCharacteristics of stored material, loading and discharge conditions, geometry, foundations and structural behaviour.
Terminals and port infrastructureOperating loads, equipment arrangement, circulation, exposure conditions and integration between structures and installations.
Water plants, treatment facilities and biodigestersHydraulic geometry, containment, watertightness, service actions and interfaces with equipment and processes.
Industrial buildingsStructural spans, clear heights, equipment and storage loads, floors, access and opportunities for expansion.
Oil & Gas and renewable energyEquipment foundations and supports, operating loads, utility infrastructure and coordination with technology suppliers.
MiningStockpiling, containment, material loads, foundations, circulation and site conditions.
Road and transport infrastructureAlignment, earthworks, pavements, drainage and integration with existing installations.
Real estate and civil developmentsArchitectural coordination, structures, installations, shared infrastructure and phased construction.

Documentation that enables progress

Depending on the commissioned stage, we provide design bases, calculation reports, drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, estimates and documentation for procurement or construction.

Information is organised with version identification and review status. Assumptions, exclusions and outstanding matters are stated explicitly so that a preliminary definition is not used as though it were construction documentation.

Engineering connected to construction and use.

We assess alternatives with regard to material availability, construction sequences, maintenance access and future growth. The aim is to meet the project’s needs with a technically substantiated solution compatible with its delivery conditions.
